These are not reproductions of any real places, but stand for the feelings delivered by landscapes, their value as a threatened space of life. They begin with a mental image, owing some to memory, embedded in the mind. All of these paintings have in common the presence of water, to which you are drawn by its unsettledness and ability to reflect, giving way to interpretation of a complex reality. The act of painting essentially calls for a gestural approach, involving the body in a relationship with the elements. Thin overlays of colours are used, intended to create visual effects and the constant movement of matter. When I\u2019m in the act of painting, I almost physically sense the space in nature, where one feels nearly inexistent, yet strongly belonging there.ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder<\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:fr--><\/p>\n<h3>Portrait d&#8217;eau<\/h3>\n<p>Dans ce travail sur le paysage d&#8217;eau il ne s&#8217;agit pas de reproduire mais de repr\u00e9senter la sensation du paysage \/ espace v\u00e9cu. Le point de d\u00e9part est de l&#8217;ordre de l&#8217;image mentale, de la memoire &#8230; inscrites dans l&#8217;inconscient. Toutes ces peintures ont en commun la pr\u00e9sence d&#8217;eau qui attire par sa variabilit\u00e9 et par sa capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9flexion, ouvrant simultan\u00e9ment la possibilit\u00e9 d&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation, regard sur la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 multiple. La peinture se transcrit essentiellement par le geste ; superposition de couches minces et cr\u00e9ation d&#8217;effets optique de mouvement constant de la mati\u00e8re \/ lumi\u00e8re. Au moment de peindre je me trouve dans la sensation d&#8217;espace presque physique de la nature, o\u00f9 on se sent quasi inexistant et \u00e0 la fois fortement appartenir \u00e0 elle.ngg_shortcode_1_placeholder<\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:fi--><\/p>\n<h3>Vedenkuvia<\/h3>\n<p>Maalaukseni ovat tuntemuksia maisemasta : l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohtana niille ovat olleet mielikuvat, muistikuvat&#8230; Yhteisen\u00e4 tekij\u00e4n\u00e4 n\u00e4ist\u00e4 maisemista usein l\u00f6ytyy vesi, joka kiehtoo vaihtelevaisuutensa ja moniulottuisuutensa vuoksi : sen heijastuskyky luo mahdollisuuden useamman todellisuustason yht\u00e4aikaiseen tulkintaan. Kuvani ovat saaneet alkunsa l\u00e4hes fyysisest\u00e4 tilakokemuksesta luonnossa, jossa tuntee itsens\u00e4 melkein olemattomaksi ja samalla voimakkaan yhteenkuuluvaksi siihen. Maalausprosessini l\u00e4hentelee t\u00e4t\u00e4 tilaa. K\u00e4yt\u00e4n p\u00e4\u00e4llekk\u00e4isi\u00e4 ohuita maalauspintoja joiden kautta siirryn itse tilaan ja sen my\u00f6t\u00e4 samaistun siihen.
